I'd love for you to check out my Kindle Vella series. You'll find links below and would appreciate your feedback. Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite Kinde Vella story you're following.
I’m nearing the point where I need to finish writing Art History completely. Originally conceived as a novella, the drama between Derek and Sebastian is about to reach a climax and since I know the ending, I need to get there and get it posted. I’m aiming for the end of February. The urgency is that the second book in the Woodlawn College Romance series is starting to kick in my brain and I’d like to get that written this spring. (Readers of the story will have an inkling who’s in the next book 😉 ) I’ll be relaunching Art History as an eBook along with its sequel when it’s finished. They’ll be exclusive on Amazon, since the Kindle Vella version will be up there for a while.
The end to Season 2 of Wound is just on the horizon too and our hearty band of survivors will be in a bit of a pickle before Season 3 (which will launch near the end of March). Wound is my first, true Kindle Vella series and it’s heading to it’s midpoint. The main story ends at Season 4 (this summer) and will be released as a box set with a bonus prequel in the fall of 2022. I’ll be resuming the character profiles next week, so look out for those.
Finally, Phone, Keys, Claws, Teeth came to a bit of a standstill at the beginning of the year, mainly because I lost the voice. First-person present is still new to me as a writer (and a reader, to be honest) and sometimes I slip out of Amanda’s head and hover just above in 3rd-person omniscient. That reveals too many secrets. Other character’s points-of-view would be rich territory to explore, but not for this story. I also don’t’ have the shape of the ending just yet, so this one may stretch out into the summer. That’s fine. Amanda has a lot to do
I have one other idea for a new Kindle Vella series, but the genre is outside of these three and as I’m still working on my novella, Chatterbox, I don’t’ want to overload myself with projects.
As important it is to try new things and start new worlds, it’s even more important to finish, putting the lessons into your archive and moving on fresh.
